진공묘유
[眞空妙有, Jin-gong Myoyu]
있으면서 없고, 없으면서 있는, 그런가하면 작용은 있으되 흔적은 없는 묘한 이치의 불이법 (不二法), 곧 유 (有)와 무 (無)의 두 극단을 떠난 모든 사물의 실상 (實相)을 깨닫는 것을 진공묘유( 眞空妙有) 또는 중도 (中道)라고 함. 따라서 진공과 묘유는 따로따로의 별개의 것이 아니다. 다시 말해 소승 (小乘)에서 말하는 한쪽에 치우친 단공 (但空)이 아닌 것을 진공 (眞空)이라 하고, 비유 (非有)의 유 (有)로서 범부의 그릇된 실 유 (實有)가 아니므로 묘유( 妙有)라 한다
Wondrous being of true emptiness, or sublime being of true emptiness of neither being nor non-being: True non-existence, yet mysteriously existing, the true nature of reality beyond existence and non-existence, or the middle way or path. In other words, the emptiness of emptiness in contrast to the extreme view of absolute emptiness of things of Hinayana's extreme view of the absolute emptiness of things, and the non-existence of existence in contrast to the common people's view of the existence as true existence.
